Accommodation and facilities:
I stayed at the cheapest room in a hillside wing and was happy I didnt pay more. The cleaning is really average, they often don t mop the floors. The towels are really old and overused.However, you need to pay for the beach ones if you kept it longer than one day or took an extra. You also have to pay for low speed WIFI and give a deposit for a second key. The wing side doesn t even have a second key idea which caused a lot of problems. The brekkie was disgusting and it took a couple of days for 3 ladies and me to make them put the food labels. The waiters are really slow and you have to go and take the cutlery all by yourself. They even managed to cook thai food badly with a bitter taste(old oil I guess). The only pro is a hillside swimming pool and the people who work there. So, overall the hotel itself is well constructed but the management and the service made me wish call to Sawadee and ask about the refund policy and get out of this hotel.

Die Beach-Bungalows sind in einem schlechtem Zustand. Das Bett ist extrem hart und bin jeden Morgen von den Schmerzen aufgewacht. Die Dusche ist ohne Druck und nur ein Rinnsal. Laut Aussage von anderen Hotelgästen, ist gegen ein Aufpreis von 600 Bath ein Upgrade im Haupthaus möglich, welches besser sein soll. Nach unserer Ansicht sind die Beach-Bungalows das Geld nicht wert. Wir empfehlen lieber ein anderes Hotel zu wählen.

We had a lovely 8 day stay at the Kacha resort. lovely swimming pool & kids pool, great location. We upgraded our room however as the room we were allocated was in a poor location and without a balcony as requested. The staff where helpful on arrival and quite cheerful, however as the week went on the staff seemed less helpful and not happy. This was a shame as the resort, location and cleanliness was excellent. We would stay again and we would recommend it, however it would be nice to see the staff happy.

This resort is in an excellent location. We stayed in a Hillside Deluxe room across the road from the beach side of the resort. These rooms are much newer and are clean and comfortable. Our room was starting to show its age with very scuffed floors. The hot water surged in the shower making it go hot then cold constantly during any time of the day. The staff at the resort are very friendly and helpful. The pool areas (there are 2) are nice but the beachside pool is incredibly crowded and all the Europeans get up early in the morning to reserve their sunbeds which is annoying. The breakfast buffet had a large selection to choose from but was pretty average in taste. We would stay here again as it is good value for money and I would recommend the Hillside rooms over the older villas on the beach side - these look incredibly shabby and dingy! Also a final FYI for anyone wanting to stay here is that this hotel is incredibly popular with Russians (we were almost the only non-Russians in the whole resort).

I could not sleep at Mid Night of 23 Mar cause the Boiler didn t work, couldn t utilise the bath Tu. I wasted. hours for technician to solve, after recondition the boiler I still couldn t use the Bath tub though waiting for hours for hot water.I feel that poor maitenance shouln t happen but its true. Further more , service Manager of the hotel talked to me that the room and other favilities inside the room are Good. I am very disapponted especially for this service manager.

Koh Chang is probably one of Thailand’s best nature experiences, a island with a dense jungle robe and exiting mountains and waterfall for the brave, with fantastic beaches and shallow clear water around. It is situated in a group of islands, both inhabited and uninhabited for the explorer type vacation. We took a daring taxi ride from Bangkok Airport to Kacha Resort, it took ~5h to a cost of 5000 baht door to door. Koh Chang Kacha Resort & Spa is probably one of the most “western” adjusted hotel on the Koh Chang island, that is both good and bad, dependant what type of vacation you are looking for. Our experience was that the beds was too hard for our liking, and bed size did not match the number of people (Scandinavian size) the room was intended for (worth double check before booking). The worst thing we experienced was the Koh Chang sickness, we tough it was a myth, but all 12 in our company got stomach problem (and many around us), the worst ending up in hospital with antibiotic injection over night. We tried Dukoral as a preventive action, since we had been warned, but with no effect. We could see many sick people at Kacha Resort making us little suspicious if the hotel was part of the problem, discussions between guests’ indicated the pool or breakfast buffet as suspects. Kacha Resort management even sent out a letter of a stomach problem in southeast Asia, with some cases also in Koh Chang, we did however see people getting sick in the hallways and even over the balconies…. Other groups also had a 100% hit of stomach problems.

The deluxe room is spacious although Now I would have stayed in a superior bungalow. They are better located and cheaper. It was rather unnerving when we received a letter not to smoke beacause the alarm on the storey had gone off the previous night. We are non-smokers and we were not obviously the prblem. I presume they had sent letters to everybody on the same storey. However, it was disappointing for me to be treated like that. I even wrote a letter to the manager which I handed at the reception. Nobody apologised. Anyway, good location, good breakfast, but it finishes at 10 a.m. Choose a cheaper room.

Через дорогу номера новые - хороша� �лышимо�ть � �о�едними номерами - в�е номера двойные � дверью между ними - проблема в двер�х - они видимо вообще не задерживают шум. Друзь� жили в виле у мор� - �таровато, но при�тно. Ребенок был в во�торге от ба��ейна, пл�ж �амый обжитой - кофешки, магазинчики, прокаты и т.п.

Resorten var fin med flotte uteområder, bra service men rommene var litt små. Beliggenheten var perfekt men litt mye støy fra naborommene trekker litt ned. Men kommer gjerne igjen men da blir det bungalowene nede ved stranden. Maten i resturanten var god og frokost buffeten var over all forventning. Det var mange barnefamilier og et flott sted å bo hvis man reiser med barn.

Small gym with okay equipment. Location was great if You want to stay in a busy area. Still do not understand why internet access cannot be provided for free considering the price of the rooms.

Only thing that behind the building there is a dump for rubish or something and you can get the smell of that sometimes. argh. and TOILET SEAT inside toilet, it look´s like someone take huge dump around it and never clean it later on. and the room service did not do nothing to clean it.

High Season rip off. Do not book in during high season with the Gala Crap dinners. The disapointment factor is huge. I booked 3 rooms for international guests and was embarassed of the quality. I have stayed at the resort 3 times previous in low season and thoroughly enjoyed. High season, they have you by the !@# and abuse the privilage. I will not stay there again. It is worth the low season rates but not the high season extortion!

This is a familyhotel. There are kids everywhere. As we travel with our kids, we enjoyed this. The restaurant and bar is quit expensive. But there are plenty of places to eat and drink along the beach and the road, in all pricecatagories. The hotell restaurant and the breakfast is very good. The staff is friendly and helpfull. My daugther got a coconut and flowers fromther garderner. She was so happy about it! We stayed at the older bungalows on the seaside. They where not very modern, but cleand and tidy. And Koh Chang is lovely. White Sand Beach is full of turistm, shops, massage, and every thing you need.

We had a problem with the beds. There were 3 adults. We slept in 2 small bed. For the married couple it was very hard. Also in the beginning you wanted the three of us to sleep in one king sized bed and a children s metal cot.

We enjoyed our stay at kacha and it was a really good place for our one-year-old son. We stayed at the hotel side and were pleased with our rooms eventhough the beds were hard. We met many other swedish families during our stay and for some of them there were not their first visit at kacha.

Decent resort, we came from the Amari which made this look a bit poor in comparision, but it was cheaper at the Kacha. We stayed in a hillside room, ok size, separate shower, bathroom was clean if a little dark. Breakfast was pretty good, wide variety, if not always the best ingredients, i.e. the bacon was mostly fat. Good to have two pools, the one by the beach filled up, especially with ppl putting towels on the sun beds which was annoying. The location is good, by the beach, white sands is lovely, clear, clean water, better than Klong Prao and Kaie Bae for us. Also a reasonable choice of restaurants nearby, eat on the beach for a lovely holiday experience.

Very nice hotel, we like it very much! Tha first room we lived in was a hillside deluxe room and it was very nice room. It´s a road to cross to achive the beach and breakfast but ther is no problem, the have a staff only working with to help peolle over the street. Our second room was a standard room, it was´nt as nice as the first one but it works for us to sleap in. The hotell have the best location on the beach in our opinion.

Nice beach for long walks. The new building on the hillside definitely has nicer newer rooms (great bathrooms). Breakfast is the pretty much the same every day. Fishing boats are loud & annoying early in the morning with their engine noise. 2/3 of excursions are not available during low season. No night life whatsoever on the island. Go elsewhere if you re easily bored (like me).

a wonderful hotel, very clean, big rooms hillside, large pool, extrem friendli staff, excellent breakfast (except marmelate!!), super location at the white sand beach and in the middle of shops and restaurants.

unfortunately, I was told, that the transfer could not be done by the hotel because of the last ferry at 05.00 pm. But there was another ferry at 07.00 p.m. and with a fligth with bangkok ayrways from BKK to Trat, I could reach easely that ferry.

Das Kacha Resort auf Koh Chang ist sehr schoenes Hotel. Unser Deluxe Budildung Room ist sehr zu empfehlen. Leider ist das Hauptgebaeude durch eine Strasse von dem Strand entfernt aber der Verkehr ist nicht so extrem. Der Strand ist sehr schoen und auch der Pool und die Liegen am Pool sehr schoen. Die Restaurants sind etwas teuer aber direkt neben dem Hotelrestaurant gibt es das beste Seafood Restaurant Thailands mti dem Namen Sea Bar . Dort kann man sehr gut und guenstig essen. Das Fruehstueck war ok und ausreichend. Leider war der Service sehr schlecht in dem Hotel. Das Zimmer war nicht fertig als wir ankamen und am letzten Tag wollten wir eine halbe Stunde spaeter auschecken, weil wir morgens sehr Glueck mit dem Wetter hatten, aber das wuerde 200 Baht extra Kosten. Fuer ein Hotel, was in der Regenzeit nur halb ausgebucht ist, finde ich das nicht in Ordnung. Ansonsten kann man einen schoenen Urlaub dort verbringen.

Overall an average experience. We were initially offerred a very basic room in a poor location right beside the dining area. We also discovered that the swimming pool by the beach was out of operation during Sept. This we were not aware of in advance of making the booking. However after much lobbying we received an upgrade to a superior room though with little view. You seemed to pay for every extra such as internet access and even staying in your room for a few hours after check out time. The breakfast was ok but more variety and fruit would have been good. Doubt we will be back.

A disappointing start as the room had a bad odor due to fungus in the room. At first wanted to charge me for an upgrade to Junior suite as no other rooms available in the end upgraded 1 night no charge. The suite in fact was not clean and air con was not strong enough. The following 2 nights moved back to basic room it was ok. The restaurant staff were fine and most of the reception staff as well. We only ate once in the restaurant as I need to work on line and I will not pay for internet usage.Five meals we may have eaten at hotel we ate out. The one meal we had in the hotel restaurant I was very impressed with

I don t even know where to begin, with this horror story. Me and my husband booked the Kacha Resort Online, at the end of our two month trip through Thailand. We booked it thinking we were spending the last of our money on a good resort on a beautiful beach, before heading back to wintery Canada...Well the beach is beautiful but Kacha Resort and Spa was the worst experience I have ever had, and was a totaly sad ending to a wonderful trip. The rooms were ridiculously overpriced for what you got, and what you got was a moldy old bungalow, it spelled like raw sewage in the middle of the night, our air conditioner broke twice, not once did they offer us a new room but forced me to stay in the room while the repair guys came twice...not only did I have to wait for the repair guys on two occasions but they had forgot to even call them the first time I had complained about the A/C not working....might have been a no brainer to maybe offer us a new room. Well after the A/C broke for the third time I finally said that its time for them to find me a new room, well this took forever and tried to persuade me to have the A/C guys come again, I said absolutely not, considering I spent a small fortune on the room. They advertise king size beds, it is two twins shoved together, and are uneven, and sleeping on a rock would have been more comfortable. There are so many better and nicer places on Ko Chang for half the price of this hole. Aside from the raw sewage smell, the broken A/C, the water was never past the point of freezing. Now as for the restaurant, well its over priced just like the rooms and the food is barely mediocre, my husband was instantly sick after eating there and we did not go there once again, not even for the breakfest. The facilities looked wonderful, but there not, the website is a complete facade, the pool is grimy and no one cleans it or around it, no one mans any of the stations, we had to help ourselves to the towels from the towel desk, and that raw sewage smell seemed to permiate the whole facility. The website also showed a computer room, well I dont think one computer right beside the outdoor reception desk counts as a computer room not to mention it is not free, not even for wireless on your own device, the first time we encountered that in two months! The website also showed a gym and fitness room, when we inquired about it they looked at us like we were crazy, and of course they did not have such a facility. I could go on and on about the rude staff, the disgusting conditions, and the fact that they are charging double the price compared to other resorts on White Sand Beach. Me and my husband were so dissatisfied that we tried to leave early but refused us our money back so we were stuck, but as soon as we could leave we went up the street to a new resort. Do not stay at Kacha beach if you want to enjoy yourself, its one lie after another.

This was a great hotel, location was really good, breakfast was great too-lots of choice. When we arrived we noticed the mattress was really firm, and with being pregnant, it was quite uncomfortable. The hotel staff were amazing and added a foam topper to the mattress which made it really comfortable for our whole stay. I can t think of anything negative to say about this hotel, I would definitely stay here again. From reading other reviews we decided to stay in the new building, on the hillside, and we would definitely come and stay again. The pool was a great feature with the pool bar, staff were very friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend this hotel

So was the first room we got. These superior bungalows is seriously overpriced for what you get. They feel very old and worn. Great place, great stay. Can highly recommend it, especially to families travelling with children. We stayed in a Family Suite on the hillside which was perfect as it s quiet during night and less mosquitos compared to the more veggie environment down by the bungalows at the beach. The pool areas are not the biggest in the world but still definately good enough (really nice pool bars aswell). The staff are generally very friendly and service minded. The breakfast has what you expect but not moore, not bad at all but not fantastic if you are a breakfast junkie. Reg lunch and dinner we had lunch on the beach (like 50m north of Kacha) at a place called The Sea Bar EVERY DAY!! That place was terrific serving delicious thaifood at really low prices. Ypu don t need to search for a better place to have lunch if ypu like thaifood. Dinner is more or less the same, either you just follow the beach or the main road and you ll find a lot of nice places. If you get fed up on thaifood and like something else, there is a great Italian restaurant like 10 min walk south of kacha called Invito or if you re into good beef or steak go north from kacha (5 min) to a place called Buffalo Bill...but please don t forget the seafood down by the beach. Good luck and enjoy, Kacha is a great place and Koh Chang has a lot to offer.

We had a nice stay at White Sand Beach, but not because of the room at Kacha Resort but because of the location and facilities(swimmingpool, beachfront and spa). Our room, a superior, was humid, small and very bad smelling, but it had a great location 2nd row from the beach with seawiew from the terasse, and also the bed was very good. Lucky for us the power was on all the time, so after a day of constant air-condition, the humid and bad smell was down to an acceptable level, and we chose to stay in the room instead of paying another THB 2000,- extra per night for an upgrade. Breakfast was, well you can survive on it but not great. All the hot/warm dishes was cold, every morning. At the same time the choises of food, fruit, juice, yoghurt etc. was very poor. Housekeeping was so so, some days they did good other days they did not so good. At the end of our stay (the last 3-4 days) they ran out of small towels, and it seemed like they just dissapeared, because we newer had any again. Anyway, in spite of all the negative things just menthioned, we may stay at the Kacha Resort again, due to the great location, good facilities and very friendly staff. If you want to stay at Kacha Resort I ll recommend you to stay at the beach side. The hill side, quite new, seems dull and boring. However the rooms may be good.

The room we booked was ideal and the resort overall was fine. Because of the time of year it was quite crowded at breakfast and around the beach side pool. Our main problem was the way people reserved the sun loungers with towels. This meant that the same people could keep the best places all day without using it much - very frustrating. The hotel should consider reviewing this policy. The staff were mostly helpful and assisted with booking trips. The costs for internet use were too high and unexpected of a resort of this standard. All in all we would recommend this resort but if we stay in Koh Chang again we will probably look for a quieter hotel in a less populated part of the island.

A very nice an friendly hotel. Clean and good service. The children loved it, especially the pool areas, both in Hill Side and at the Beachfront. The breakfast was really great with a lots of choices. We stayed for 13 nights and the service was always really good! We stayed in a family suite and that was very very nice!! Two bathrooms and good beds, even the extras! The fitnessroom was also really good!
